What is Generational Crossroads (GC)?
Founded in 1996, GC offers courses in restoring relational wholeness in Jesus Christ through worship, Bible study, small-group discussion and prayer. Relational healing and growth are to be standard, expected parts of the maturing process of believers. While the entire biblical account supports the desire and ability of God to redeem and transform lives, Scriptures references that directly address the issue include Psalm 51, the book of Proverbs, Romans 8:1-2, Romans 12:1-2, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Hebrews 4:12.

Who leads Generational Crossroads?
GC is led by Gail Levin, GC's founder and executive director. Gail has led hundreds of people through the process of personal growth and transformation. She is the author of GC's curriculums and has trained leaders and laity as head coaches and small-group facilitators.

Gail's involvement in ministry dealing with personal transformation and family issues dates back to the early 1980’s. Gail is an ordained minister and a graduate of Brooklyn College.  She and her husband, Allen, reside in San Diego Calif. and are the parents of two adult children.

What is Entering God's Rest?
Entering God's Rest is the curriculum of GC. The curriculum is taught in sessions that meet once a week for eight weeks. Our lessons become workrooms of life as we apply Scripture to relevant "crossroads in our lives." Questions highlight what we learned growing up, and how well what we learned aligns with Scripture.

Our curriculum invites the Holy Spirit to both reveal where our lives are in line with God's Word, and where we need to repent (change), and grow (see Hebrews 4:12); this includes examining issues that may have escaped our attention simply because they are so comfortable and familiar. Participants learn how to rest in God's ability to untangle issues of the past, freeing us to move into our God-appointed destinies. We find that God has waited generations to release us, and our families, from painful cycles and dysfunctions into blessings already prepared and waiting.

As the curriculum is interactive, participants have the opportunity to both tell their stories and hear the stories of others. In this way, we find we have more in common than we thought. We gain understanding and hope. Issues that cannot be answered directly in class become matters for prayer. Many participants see circumstances begin to align in new and hopeful ways as God continues in "real time" the processes begun in class.

Who can participate?
GC spans most of the "divides." Adults of all ages, many cultures and races, denominations, and both genders, have all successfully participated. GC employs a Christ-centered biblical worldview. You are invited to visit our Mission/Beliefs page for further information. Although one need not profess faith in Jesus Christ to begin GC, at some point you will need to make that decision if you are to profit from the session.

What is GC's model?
GC employs a relational model of ministry. Trained facilitators oversee the small groups but everyone, including the facilitators, answers the questions posed by the curriculum. We readily admit that the only expert is the Holy Spirit. At work is a dynamic of relationship worth examining:

A relational model frees everyone in the groups to receive as well as to give. We can influence others as well as be influenced by others, and we can all change and grow. We recognize that we are diverse people from many walks of life. We affirm that we are all in process, versus needing to have arrived. We practice being ourselves as we tell our stories, and listen to the stories of others. Boundaries to which we all agree beforehand help to keep it a safe place. Relationship involves risk, but it also creates community.

Is GC therapy?
No. Nor does GC replace professional therapy. Our sharing is on the level of friends, and we choose to meet as equals to maintain the integrity of the group.

About Coaches
Facilitators, or small-group leaders, in GC are called coaches. As GC is interactive, facilitators participate alongside participants in their small groups of five or less people. The head coach, or group leader, "roams," by spending quality time in each small group. In this way, mentoring and modeling by the coaches becomes a valuable part of every lesson.

GC offers Coaches Training Sessions for small-group facilitators. These sessions are generally held shortly before new sessions, and last four hours. Contact Generational Crossroads for more information if you would like to apply to be a small-group coach. GC is also available to train "head coaches": facilitators assigned by their congregations or organizations to lead GC sessions at their own locations.

How is GC supported?
GC is supported through donations. GC is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, religious corporation and all donations are tax deductible.
